Endangered Species Roam San Francisco

Artist and landscape architect Todd Gilens created a series of bus wraps that are currently circulating throughout San Francisco. Featuring endangered species, the wrapped buses bring attention to the relationship between humans and nature and the impact that cities have on wildlife habitat. The wraps also beautify the buses, encouraging people to ride public transit, decrease their carbon footprint and help save the natural environment.

Co-sponsored by several organizations, including Bay Nature and San Francisco Metropolitan Transit Authority (SFMTA), Gilens' Endangered Species buses have bring a touch of whimsy and a serious message to transit commuters. (Photo: Todd Gilens)
